Reflection 3rd of June

Today we ran through Candy for 3 or 4 times. On the 3rd try, we have figured out the transition and it was actually very good, even though it is different from the real song. But, we also had some problems with the tempo, since the singer keeps on slowing down and the kolintang are quite a mess. But, for the last 2 tries, it went very good and we were all happy with it. We only have to practice more and we need to start learning Wavin' Flag. For the last 15 minutes of the lesson, we started Wavin' Flag. Even though the intro is still confusing because the other singer wasn't there, it was still acceptable. For the drums part, the other drummer still haven't figured out the rhythm, so I decided to take over for a while.

Reflection 1st of June

We still have approximately 2 more weeks until the performance and today we only practiced for Candy. The whole class did well but we still haven't figured out the transition between the 2nd chorus and the 3rd verse. We did all we got and it was actually quite good. Then, we decided to work on Wavin' Flag on the next lesson.

Reflection 28th of May

On the 28th of May, we tried Greased Lightning for a couple of times and then we carried on the practice for Candy and figured out notes for kolintang. The kolintang players had no problem at all with the note raising. But, we haven't figured out several parts for Candy such as the 3rd verse and the transition between the 2nd chorus and the 3rd verse.

Reflection 27th of May

On the 27th of May, we ran through Greased Lighting and it went pretty well. But, we still haven't decided the dance moves. The guitar solo is acceptable, but we still need to work on that too. Even though some people are absent, we still could do the song without them. Not only the guitar solo that needs to be worked on, but also the ending of Greased Lightning. But then we decided to carry on to the next song, which is Candy. The singers for Candy decided to raise the note of the song. It affects the kolintang and several other instruments.

Reflection (Ideas narrowed down)

Reflection after narrowing down:

We narrowed down 20 ideas to 12 and then to 10. We divided ourselves to 10 groups and research some more for those 10 ideas. Then we will begin our investigation and then we will vote for the 3 songs that we are going to perform.

Reflection after investigation

Reflection after investigation:

After we investigate each ideas, we managed to decide 3 songs to be performed. The songs are Greased Lightning, Candy and Waving Flag. I voted for Uptown Funk and Waving Flag, but only Waving Flag that got chosen. We took a couple of weeks for voting while we should have not use 2 weeks.
